Let’s be honest: corporate innovation is broken.

There’s a hunger to move faster, think bolder, and build smarter. And nowhere is that more urgent than at the intersection of fintech and corporate innovation.

Meet The Minds Behind a New Kind of Venture Builder

By Ezechi Britton MBE

In a world where change is constant but transformation is rare, too many great ideas remain stuck—sidelined by legacy thinking, risk aversion, and internal politics. Across industries, there’s a hunger to move faster, think bolder, and build smarter. And nowhere is that more urgent than at the intersection of fintech and corporate innovation.

That’s why we created The Collective.

This isn’t a consulting group. It’s not a traditional venture builder. It’s a new model: a corporate-backed venture builder built to help organisations think like fintechs and act like founders. Our mission is simple but ambitious: unlock transformative ideas, and build new businesses that ship, scale, and shift entire markets.

But what makes this work isn’t just strategy. It’s people. And more importantly, it’s the right kind of people.

The Origin Story

After years of working across the ecosystem—as a founder, investor, government advisor, charity trustee, and collaborator with regulators and corporates—I found myself surrounded by an extraordinary network of talented, principled, and brilliant people. These were individuals I trusted deeply, who had seen the world from different angles and delivered real impact.

I was constantly introducing them to one another, knowing that if they connected, they could unlock new ideas and support each other’s work. But this approach quickly became inefficient. It became obvious: we needed to bring them together in one place.

And so The Collective was born—a space for these minds to collaborate, challenge, and inspire one another. What happened next was clear: the value this group could bring wasn’t just to each other. It was to the wider world.

Given my own journey across startups, investment, public service, and corporate innovation, I saw first-hand how much help organisations needed when it came to turning potential into performance. Innovation was everywhere, but often unfocused, unsupported, or unloved.

The Collective became a vehicle for addressing that gap—to take latent ideas and turn them into scalable ventures, with a team of experts ready to guide and build alongside them.

The "Why"

Corporates often struggle to innovate not because they lack ideas, but because they lack the space, speed, and challenge to turn ideas into action. Safe thinking, echo chambers, and polished PowerPoints don’t build businesses. Diverse perspectives, healthy tension, and committed execution do.

That’s why The Collective was born—to be a brain trust of senior entrepreneurs, technologists, operators, and strategic thinkers who are not just experts in their domains, but who speak truth to power. We don’t do ego. We do impact.

The Collective isn’t here to agree with you. We’re here to challenge, refine, and accelerate your thinking—to help you get from "what if" to "what's live" faster and smarter than you thought possible.

The "How"

We start by identifying the right problems—the ones that matter most to your customers, and that sit at the edges of your business where disruption is most likely to occur. From there, we:

  1. Discover: We rapidly validate pain points and market needs.
  2. Design: We shape ideas into scalable, testable venture concepts.
  3. Build: We bring in world-class talent to develop, iterate, and ship.
  4. Launch: We either spin out or embed ventures, depending on strategic fit.

Our approach is lean but grounded. Agile but disciplined. And above all, human.

We don’t just ask "can it be done?" We ask "should it be done?" and "will it matter?"

The Team Behind the Work

While our approach is structured, the magic lies in the minds behind it. The Collective is powered by individuals who have built and scaled businesses, led transformation in global organisations, created award-winning products, and navigated regulatory, commercial, and technological complexity with grace.

They bring depth, honesty, and perspective. They bring the ability to see clearly through complexity, and the courage to make bold decisions.

But most importantly, they bring trust—the kind that lets you move fast without second-guessing. The kind that makes you better just by being in the room.

What's Next

We’re already working with partners ready to think differently. Ready to unlock what’s next. Ready to stop talking about innovation and start building it.

If you’re one of them, let’s talk.

Let’s build something that matters.
